Last September Aaron and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. But with Layne being so small we didn't really get to do anything terribly exciting. In fact, I can't remember what we actually did to celebrate. We decided that we would have to do something extra fun the next year.
Cue New York Comic Con which took place in October this year. With Aaron writing so many comic books we felt like it would be worth his time to go and meet his editor and mingle with the comic book crowd. We also felt like this would qualify for the "extra fun" trip we were looking for.
My mom so generously agreed to watch all three children for a long weekend and off we went. Can I just say that it was so wonderful? So wonderful. We saw some shows, went to the temple, made the rounds at Comic Con, toured the Met, and ate SO much yummy food. It was a fantastic break from the demands of work, children, church callings, house work, etc.
Don't know that we recorded it as well as we should have but here are a few pictures...
Waiting for the subway.
My own Captain America.
I'm pretty hot stuff too.
Scary man dressed up at Comic Con.
More crazy people dressed up for the convention. Seriously?
Times Square.
Where's Lauren? Can you find me on the steps of the Met?
I must admit it was a little sad to return to the real world responsibilities, but I was ready to get hugs from my little people.
I'm glad you guys had a great time. Awesome anniversary, I say. Getting away like that is so, SO wonderful.
